2024 Changed the Game for IBI, Here’s What’s Next

Hi! I’m Tohi, the founder of IBI. As we step into 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on what we achieved in 2024, and share my hopes for the coming year.

First let’s go back to the beginning…

IBI began as a vision rooted in my own journey. Growing up in Japan as a Korean national, I spent nearly 20 years navigating what it means to belong. I discovered that true belonging is not about shared ethnicity or culture, it is about shared ambitions and vision.

When I made it to Yonsei, I met even more remarkable people, inspiring me to create a space where ambitious minds could support and grow together. In January 2023, I made that a reality and launched IBI.

With my co-founders, Truc from Vietnam and Hyein from Korea, we shaped our vision for IBI. What started as a small group quickly gained momentum, attracting people from around the world. Today, IBI is more than a professional development platform. It’s a space for collaboration, support and personal connection.

2024: A Year of Growth and Impact

Last year was a pivotal one for IBI, filled with milestones that reflect our collective dedication and potential.

• IBI became officially registered as an HR agency connecting talented university students with global companies

• Our Yonsei University chapter grew to 200+ alumni network

• The executive team increased the Personal Development program completion rate by 31%

• We organically grew our social media following to nearly 900 in total

More than anything, 2024 proved that IBI is not just a network. It’s a community. Week after week, semester after semester, we built a foundation of support, collaboration and growth that continues to inspire us all.

Looking Ahead to 2025

This year, IBI is ready to expand its impact.

Our vision is to redefine career development as a collaborative journey, breaking down the competitive mindset that often dominates in Korea and beyond. We believe success is not a limited resource. When we lift each other up, we all thrive.

As we enter this new chapter, I encourage all of our members and partners to embrace the spirit of collaboration that defines IBI. Let’s build connections that empower us to grow not just as professionals, but as people.
